#streetstyle is a feature in which your friend and ours, Hannah Beer, skips around London stopping, photographing and questioning those she deems stylish. If you have noticed an Audrey Hepburn look-alike admiring your fashion it was probably Ms. Beer. It is also worth noting that the concept of street style is unique to Prancing Through LIFE. January is the month in which most people seem to give up on making an effort with their clothes, be it a result of excess Christmas weight that won’t shift or a depression about failing your New Years’ Resolutions after three days. As such, finding some photo-worthy outfits in the sea of sad clothes in London this month proved rather challenging. However, for reasons ranging from excellent colour blocking to a swish coat, these two caught my eye, and were nice enough to stand around and let me take their photo, despite the cold.
Lauren, 19.
Seen in Bloomsbury
I actually did a double take when Lauren walked down the street – that’s how shocked I was to see that much colour on such a grey day. The marvelousness of that shiny raincoat aside, it’s a brave person that can match their shoes to their scarf, and an even braver one that puts red, pink and purple all in the same outfit. This is living proof that bravery in your sartorial decision pays off – if you know what you’re doing. And Lauren definitely does.
What does style mean to you?
‘Wearing whatever I want.’

Maybe it’s the influence of Sherlock, or maybe it’s my longstanding love affair with coats in general, but this coat is the best I’ve seen on a guy since… well, since Sherlock. That’s a bold claim I know, but it’s a good coat. And there’s just something about a navy jumper that is so perfect for a rainy winter’s night, whether you’re a boy or a girl. It’s a safe bet, but then again – what’s wrong with that?
What does style mean to you?
‘Can I be honest? I’ve actually never even thought about it!’
